TIES Children's Resources for Ornithology and Wilderness (CROW) App

The CROW app, developed exclusively for the “Wings of Awareness” project by the Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) with support from Buimerc India Foundation, is an innovative mobile application built to promote citizen science and community participation in bird conservation.

Designed as a user-friendly platform, the app transforms every participant into a bird watcher, encouraging them to record and share their sightings. Acting as a digital logbook, the CROW app allows users to systematically document details such as the species observed, date and time, location, and additional field notes.

Beyond being a personal record-keeping tool, the app plays a vital role in scientific data collection. Each entry contributes to a growing database that helps the “Wings of Awareness” project track bird diversity, understand habitat patterns, and raise awareness about the importance of protecting avian species.

By blending technology with environmental stewardship, the CROW app empowers individuals to actively participate in conservation while deepening their connection with nature.
