Junior Baselios E.M. School, S. Pampady hosted the introductory ceremony and orientation class for the "Wings of Awareness" bird-watching project on September 30, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the School Auditorium. Organized in collaboration with the Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) and supported by the Buimerc India Foundation, the session began with a welcome speech delivered by Principal Mrs. Jayasree K. B.. The event was officially inaugurated by School Manager Adv. Siju K. Isaac, who highlighted the value of reconnecting students with their natural surroundings. Dr. Abraham Samuel, President of TIES, presented the core concept of the project, detailing how field observation of birds builds attentiveness, patience, and ecological care. Following this, TIES Project Officer Ms. Arathi Sasidharan led a session combining bird awareness, identification basics, and a practical guide to logging species using the CROW App. The orientation concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Head Boy Febin Geo Thamarasery, inspiring the young participants to become active observers and protectors of avian life.
