Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) distributed snake rescue kits to the Rapid Response Team (RRT) of the Erumeli Forest Range as part of an initiative to ensure the safe rescue of venomous snakes and mitigate human-wildlife conflicts. This program, conducted in collaboration with the Forest Department, aims to facilitate the scientific handling of snakes while ensuring the safety of both humans and reptiles.
Under this initiative, trained rescue team members respond to service requests through the Serpent Rescue App and safely relocate snakes from human-inhabited areas to secure habitats. The distributed kits include specially designed steel snake hooks, bagger frames, cotton bags and carry case to aid in the safe handling and transportation of snakes.
