As part of the ISO-standard Green Audit, Kannur University has embarked on a successful initiative to implement sustainable practices. This comprehensive audit aligns with the 7th criterion of NAAC, focusing on key areas such as environmental sustainability, water resource management, biodiversity conservation, occupational health and safety, carbon footprint evaluation, and energy usage assessment.
A significant milestone of the event was the signing of an MoU between TIES and University of Kannur, marking a collaborative commitment to environmental responsibility.
The event was seamlessly facilitated by Dr. Joby K. Jose (Registrar), Dr. Anoop Keeshavan (IQAC Coordinator), Dr. Manoj K. (HoD, Environmental Science), Dr. Pradeepan K. R., and Ms. Gadha.Assistant Professor.Following this, a discussion was held with Vice-Chancellor Dr. K. K. Saju, who provided a brief introduction to the Green Audit, outlining its scope and the timeline for completion.
Concluding the program, Dr. Punnen Kurian (TIES Secretary) and Ms. Abhirami K. P. (Project Manager) outlined the plans for committee formation, defining their responsibilities and setting general guidelines for execution. This laid the foundation for a comprehensive environmental evaluation effort at Kannur University
