St. Michael's HS Kudavechoor organized the launch and orientation program for "Wings of Awareness," a nature education initiative focused on bird watching, conducted by the Tropical Institute of Ecological Sciences (TIES) in partnership with the Buimerc India Foundation. The gathering commenced with an opening welcome address by Headmistress Shyja M. Joseph, after which PTA President Suneesh Babu formally inaugurated the session. Dr. Nelson P. Abraham, Vice President of TIES, introduced the scope and importance of the initiative, highlighting how observing avian species cultivates keen perception, patience, and environmental responsibility among students. Following this, TIES Project Officer Ms. Arathi Sasidharan led a comprehensive workshop covering bird identification principles and demonstrated the features of the CROW App for logging sightings digitally. The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Teacher Coordinator Priyanka, encouraging the young participants to enthusiastically observe and safeguard their local ecosystem.
